Aviation Projects
A major UK aviation company undertook the upgrade of heavy transport aircraft for an Operator in South Africa. This UK company approached ICON for the establishment of a data management system to capture engineering data to enable aircraft performance, reliability, maintainability and availability analyses as well as to track the location/status of maintenance significant aircraft components. This assignment covered the establishment of all of the management and data policies, processes and procedures, data elements and data integrity, and, included the development of a bespoke distributed database system that enabled data sharing and analysis between the UK and SA.
ICON designed and implemented a distributed maintenance data capture and analysis system for an organisation that operates various different types of aircraft and helicopters. The system enabled logistics engineering analysis of aircraft performance and preventative/corrective maintenance related data. The analysis enabled a better understanding of aircraft availability and reliability in terms of mean time between failures, maintenance downtimes and repair times, and, to track an industry-wide (distributed) movement, location, repair, and, maintenance status of maintenance significant aircraft spares.
